About the trail

The Wilson Trail runs from the south coast of Hong Kong Island through Lion Rock and the Tai Po area to the north-east New Territories. It opened in 1996 and is named after Sir David Wilson, a former governor.

It is the only one of Hong Kong's four long trails that crosses Victoria Harbour; there is no footpath, so walkers take the MTR between the island and Kowloon sections. The route has long flights of steps and steep climbs, passes reservoirs and Lion Rock, and finishes along the Pat Sin Leng ridge before dropping to Nam Chung near the border.

It is divided into 10 sections.

No source gives the days on foot, so they are worked out from the length at 20–25 km a day.
