About the trail

The Hong Kong Trail is one of the four long-distance trails managed by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department and crosses five country parks. It starts at the Peak above the city, follows old catchwater channels around the reservoirs of Pok Fu Lam and Tai Tam and climbs over the island's hills, with the skyline of Victoria Harbour never far away.

The last section runs along the Dragon's Back ridge and drops to the beach at Big Wave Bay. The eight sections can be joined into one long day or split into shorter walks, since buses reach most section ends. The trail opened in April 1985.

No source gives the days on foot, so they are worked out from the length at 20–25 km a day.
