About the trail
The GR11 follows the southern slopes of the Pyrenees through the Basque Country, Navarre, Aragon and Catalonia, crossing the main range several times and staying close to the French border. It is split into 46 stages by the Spanish mountaineering federation, plus a prologue.
It is commonly walked in sections; a full traverse takes well over a month because of the steady climbs between valleys.
