About the trail
The Westweg follows the crest of the northern and central Black Forest, passing the Hornisgrinde, Feldberg and Belchen, and finishes at the Swiss border city of Basel. Since 1900 it has been maintained by the Black Forest Club, which also waymarks it with a red diamond.
At Titisee it splits into a western route of 12 stages and an eastern one of 13.
No source gives the days on foot, so they are worked out from the length at 20–25 km a day.
