About the trail

The Menalon Trail crosses the mountains of Arcadia in the central Peloponnese for 75 km, from Stemnitsa to Lagkadia, and unfurls through the gorge of the Lousios river. Its eight sections link the villages of Stemnitsa, Dimitsana, Zygovisti, Elati, Vytina, Nymphasia, Magouliana, Valtesiniko and Lagkadia.

It was the first trail in Greece to be certified by the European Ramblers Association, and its website is run by the community cooperative Mainalon. Walkers' reviews on the site praise the clear waymarking, with one short unmarked stretch near the water museum by Dimitsana.

No source gives the days on foot, so they are worked out from the length at 20–25 km a day.
