About the trail
Kungsleden is run by the Swedish Tourist Association, which maintains huts, bridges and boat transfers. Its best-known section is the north, from Abisko through Tjäktja pass to Nikkaluokta, where walkers cross open tundra and alpine valleys beneath Sweden's highest mountains.
The exact distance depends on which side trips you add and how many of the lake crossings you make by boat.
No source gives the days on foot, so they are worked out from the length at 20–25 km a day.
