About the trail
The Hetta-Pallas Hiking Trail crosses the fells of Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park in Finnish Lapland for about 50 km, from the village of Hetta in the north to Pallas in the south. Its line was first outlined in 1934.
From the shore of Ounasjärvi the trail climbs over Pyhäkero and then passes a chain of fell gorges, among them Sioskuru, Pahakuru, Hannukuru, Nammalakuru and Rihmakuru, before it reaches Pallas. Metsähallitus, which looks after Finland's national parks, describes the 50 km summer route on its luontoon.fi service.
No source gives the days on foot, so they are worked out from the length at 20–25 km a day.
