About the trail
The trail follows the central ridge of Corsica, with rock scrambles, chains on steep sections and shelters run by the regional park. It is often described as one of Europe's hardest long paths because of rough ground and variable weather, even though the stages are short.
A typical day still means about seven hours of walking, and conditions are good from June to mid-October. The route is split into a harder northern half and a somewhat gentler south.
