About the trail
The track follows the Leeuwin-Naturaliste ridge along the edge of the Indian Ocean, mixing cliff tops, long sandy beaches and a stretch through the tall karri of Boranup forest. It passes limestone caves, surf breaks near Margaret River and headlands where wildflowers cover the heath in spring. Whales pass the capes from roughly September to December.
Much of the walking is on soft sand, which makes some days slower than the distance suggests.
