About the trail
Camino Krk is a section of the Camino Croatia network, developed with the island's tourist boards as a pilgrimage around Krk in the Kvarner Gulf. It sets out from Krk Cathedral in the island's main town and ends at the parish church of St James the Apostle in the village of Kornić, a short way inland, so the route closes almost in a circle.
The daily stages link the island's main settlements: Brzac, Malinska, Omišalj, Čižići, Vrbnik and Baška. Near Vrbnik the trail crosses a field where vines have been grown for more than a hundred years, and on the last day it follows the sculptures of the Baška Glagolitic Trail to Jurandvor, one of the island's best-known sites.
Camino Croatia describes seven daily stages of 19 to 23 km, a little over 150 km in all, and suggests spending a week or a weekend on the route. Pilgrims collect stamps along the way.
