About the trail

The Alpe-Adria-Trail crosses the Alps from glaciers to the sea, passing Carinthian lakes, the Slovenian Soča valley and the Karst plateau before dropping to Muggia. It is divided into 43 stages for hiking from village to village.

Several stages have alternative lines, so the total distance depends on which variants you take.

No source gives the days on foot, so they are worked out from the length at 20–25 km a day.
